ANDREW
BERNARDI
Andrew Bernardi graduated from Leeds University
before studying violin with Malcolm Layfield. Andrew has subsequently
studied with John Ludlow, Hugh Bean and Francis Mason.
Andrew won the lebel postgraduate scholarship
to study at Trinity College of Music where he led all the college
orchestras. He entered the music profession where he has been
in demand as an exceptionally versatile violinist.
He performs regularly with orchestras including
Guildford Philharmonic, London Concert Orchestra, Bournemouth
Symphony Orchestra, as well as his own ensemble. Andrew has performed,
recorded and broadcast sound tracks with artists as varied Nigel
Kennedy, Natalie Cole and the late Lord Menuhin.
Andrew has developed one of finest and most communicative
professional orchestras in the South East of England. Andrew's
ensemble is a collection of UK's leading instrumentalists. It
is innovative and popular. The group has played in venues including
the Barbican Centre Glyndbourne and many stately homes across
the UK. The players are of international standing and have communicated
their enthusiasm for the highest standards of music making whist
also raising over £100000 for charitable causes including Burrswood,
NCH, Dan Pope Memorial Fund, Great Ormand Street Hospital.
Andrew believes passionately in the importance
of working with young musicians and this interest has lead him
to hold positions on the staff of Trinity College of Music. He
regularly conducts a number of Youth Orchestras and is founder
and Artistic Director of Shipley Festival.

and a fine bow by Voirin formerly owned by the late Lord Menuhin
